An individual walks into your Post Office and requests you to open an account. As a Counter Assistant, you will check whether he is an existing customer or not. If he is not an existing customer, you will create a CIF (Customer Information File) as a prerequisite to open an account.
Let us see the Creation and Other processes related to CIF ID in Finacle CBS
Ø Customer information file (CIF) is a unique record of every customer stored in system.
Ø Every individual needs to have a unique identity called the CIF ID to open an account. A customer may have many accounts, but can only have one CIF ID which represents a unique identifiable record for that customer.
Ø CIF creation is the first step in the process for any new customer relationship.
Ø In Finacle CBS, CIF captures, ID proof, address proof, age proof, contact details and additional details like residence status and so on.
Ø CIF creation in Finacle CBS need verification and it can go along with Signature capture and photo capture through ECMS module(In CPC)
Creation of a CIF in Finacle CBS
Ø Invoke menu option “CDEDUP” to see whether the customer is already an existing customer.
Ø Enter Last Name : ________ [ Mandatory] -- Click Proceed
Ø CIF ID can also be searched from other filters – First Name, Passport No, Middle Name,National ID, PAN Card no, Driver’s License No,Date of Birth, Postal Code and Preferred Phone No.
Ø By giving the Last Name the list of CIF ID are displayed.
Ø If the customer is not an existing customer then
Ø Invoke the menu option CCRC for creation of CIF
Ø Select the function add and click on button GO.
In the details screen provide all the data mentioned below:
o ID details
o Address details
o Contact details
o Additional details
Ø Click on submit – System adds the record to the database and generates the CIF ID.
Ø CIF creation needs a verification by Supervisor and it can be done using the same menu option “CCRC”
