A case has come to notice where one of the HOs of Chhattisgarh Circle had posted huge extra amount in a RPLI policy to update the premium posting using the utility of Bulk Upload. As a result system was showing excess amount of around Rs.10lac in suspense.
The matter was examined and it came to noticc that the office concerned takcn the annual premium as monthly premium for creation of .csv file and uploaded the same in the 'Core Insurance Solution'. It seems that nobody in the HO had examined the data in the file created and/or approved to upload the file in the system. This is a matter of great concern as such activity may lead to over payment and also to fraud.
It is to clarify that the Bulk Upload facility is for updating the premium posting for those policies only where maturity date has passed or death claim or surrender request has been indexed and no front end collection is, as such, possible. In addition, where policies have lapsed due to non-updation of premium posting in NIC system by offices concerned, and hence, updation of premium posting is required. Besides, for pay policies, this functionality is used
after following .process of 'Special Group Collection'. Except cases mentioned above, in other cases, Bulk Upload utility to update the premium posting of legacy data should not be used and the process ofUCP Sanction (now Push back Sanction) has to be used.
Keeping in view the seriousness of the matter, a 'Standard Operating Procedure' for creation of .CSV files uploading thereof in the system and cases where this utility of Bulk Upload has to be used and has not to be used has been prepared and is attached for information and circulation to all CPCs in your Circle immediately with suitable instructions that this functionality should not be used without verification and approval of data contained in the .CSV file.
